Joining the Your Voice Discussion Board

Go to site here

If you want to join, you need to
follow the instructions in "registration", using a valid email address, and an IP address* free of any history of "spamming"**.  You will have to wait for approval -- sometimes a few days, but usually within a day.  If you have urgent things you want to publish in the meantime, write an email to webmaster@yourvoicesheffield.org stating your connection with Sheffield mental health issues. After consideration, the moderator will let you know whether and where it has been published.

Once a Member of the Forum, you can join general discussion or set up your own topic discussions. You will not be allowed to admit other members, but the moderator will add them as requested, again, depending on legitimacy.

We have to take these precautions, as many of our discussions can be very sensitive.  When we find a better way, we will try to improve accessibility.

This board is moderated and filtered; no attachments are allowed.  If you feel you have something long or photographic or filmy you want to publish on the site, please send it to webmaster@yourvoicesheffield.org  The decision of Your Voice is final in these matters, but we will try to help you to express yourself in whatever way we can.

*IP address = the computer from which you post your material, possibly a private computer or laptop, sometimes a G3 or higher phone, sometimes a "proxy" -- a web-based re-router which hides your own IP***, and is  much favoured by criminals and creeps.  Don't worry if your machine has been hijacked in the past; it won't show up as recent;  and we also have to consider that spammers, too,  may need mental health assistance.

** Spammer = someone who sends out junk mail, occasionally criminal, often pornographic, especially those using "spambots", or robotic mail software for spamming.

***There are programmes which supposedly "hide" your IP.  Most don't work if you know anything about computing.
